Tshwane is also popularly referred to as ‘Jacaranda City’, stemming from the fact the city has over 70 000 purple Jacaranda trees. They line the streets and fill the parks of the City and in October annually, you will be treated to a joyous sea of purple haze when the Jacarandas bloom, signalling the arrival of spring through to November.

The City of Tshwane is the seat of government, meeting place of the world and capital of the Rainbow Nation. Tshwane is located in the Gauteng province, and it is where you will experience an African city which blends the depth of local culture, history and heritage together with natural splendour. Tshwane has the most foreign representative bodies in the world after Washington DC and is the only city with a big 5 Game Reserve within its boundaries only 30 minutes away from its CBD.
